Gilbarco was in the middle of developing a new gas dispenser program. As they determined product costs, the Gilbarco engineers realized that the new design did not significantly reduce their product costs as they had intended. Gilbarco was facing a complete drop of the program.

Like many manufacturing companies, John Deere maintains a very active supply chain management philosophy. During the end of the last decade, John Deere made the decision to pull out of several troubled suppliers that were experiencing negative effects financially as a result of the recession. New Standard had already been established as a supplier for one the John Deere facilities and was in position to help fill some of the supply chain gaps.

Genie came to New Standard with a base model of a new generation of garage door opener. Cost and overall margin were important considerations as well the advanced number of moving parts and components. New Standard engineers began working with Genie at the Phase 1 design level.

Parker Hannifin had produced high flow valves for over 25 years. A recent purchase of a competitor that produced a similar product had a broader market offering. New Standard began work in the modeling phase, creating the 3-D modeling for Parker Hannifin.

Trico – Honda

Trico was having issues with the primary retainer wiper component for the US and Chinese version of the Honda Accord. Trico had been purchasing the part from one of New Standard’s competitors where die maintenance issues has resulted in poor product quality, high scrap rates, and reduced product output. An additional operation had been added to the retainers to help improve the quality and rejection rate.
